After learning more about Acceptable Use Policies, Fair Use, Copyright, etc I would say that the best way that a DLC can ensure that members and the community are protected is to create its own AUP. I found this description from iSAFE to be user-friendly and to the point. It gives a description of what AUP is and guidelines on how to create one. As creator, board member, or president of said DLC, that or those people should get together to discuss the values of their DLC, put them into words, and share them with their members.
One key component to this would be making sure that AUP is clearly visible and easy to understand. I found the video below to be eye-opening. It is nearly impossible for an adult to monitor all media usage of children and teenagers and honestly, many adults may not be fully educated on what's acceptable and legal. Especially with young adults, it is important to give some type of training with examples in order for them to clearly understand. This video shows a class lesson designated specifically to AUP and it is really amazing to see not only how well the students comprehend but how interested they are in the matter.
